C’est Ironique Sign of the Weeque

Oh dear. When this store in the Montparnasse Métro station opened as the first branch of a fashion and beauty chain called “Presty Women,” it was weird enough to warrant inclusion in C’est Ironique. Still, at least the name sort of vaguely, awkwardly evoked something, i.e. the title of a 1960s pop song and a 1990s pop movie.

But apparently not enough women were willing to buy fashion and beauty products from a windowless shop in a cold, noisy, drafty, busy Métro corridor (Parisians are such snobs!), so now the space has been rebranded to appeal to a completely different clientele: men and women who are willing to buy food products from a windowless shop in a cold, noisy, drafty, busy Métro corridor.

And not just any food, mind you — presty food!
